Background
Founded in 1994, Star Tickets has grown from a local ticket printing and ticket sales company serving primarily local churches to a nationally recognized, full service ticketing company. The formation of Tickets Plus Inc., now dba Star Tickets, was driven by the opportunity to create a niche ticketing service provider for the Grand Rapids area. The Company began modestly by providing ticket-printing services to a variety of small, local venues in and around West Michigan.
In addition to the Van Andel Arena in 1996, the Company continued to add new venues to its client list including outdoor fairs, small theatres and other special events. In 1998, the Company added its first casino, Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. During the past fifteen years we have developed an operating framework that meets the unique business style of the Native American market and we have developed relationships with talent buyers/ promoters that play a major role in booking casino entertainment. Today, Star Tickets serves casinos throughout the U.S.
In 2007 we moved to a state of the art ticketing software solution with Veritix to better serve our clients ever-changing needs. Veritix is owned by Danny Gilbert, Chairman and Founder of Rock Financial and Quicken Loans; owner of Cleveland Cavaliers. In addition to the Cavaliers, Veritix ticketing solution is used by Texas A&M, Boise State University, events at the Houston Toyota Center, and all events at the EnergySolution Arena including the Utah Jazz, and many more. Veritix is a robust ticketing solution capable of providing unique applications to a variety of clients.
Veritix's exclusive Event and Offer Management tools allow venues and event promoters the unique opportunity to dynamically manage ticket pricing during major on sales, without ever taking the event off-sale. Advanced Contact Management solutions create stronger relationships with patrons and drive ticket sales through direct and mass email configurations.
In 2001, the Company moved into its current facility and established a call center to handle ticket sales via an 800 number. The call center is one of four integrated customer interaction platforms: venue box offices, retail ticketing outlets, centralized call center, and the internet. Ticket buyers can purchase tickets for any event Star Tickets is contracted for through any of the four sales platforms.
Growth and success have been fostered by the development of key relationships with venue operators, entertainment promoters and retailers; the integration of hardware and software technologies that enable efficient ticketing through outlets, box offices, the internet and a state of the art call center; and focusing on four distinct customer niches where the Company has a competitive advantage and proven track record. Our core business is comprised of casinos, theatre, sporting events, and fairs and festivals.
